Music, Service, and Summer Gatherings
The last couple of weeks have been full, meaningful, and a little bit varied, so I thought I’d share some highlights of what I’ve been up to. One of the sweetest experiences I had was playing the piano for a baptism in my ward. It was for a very lovely 8-year-old boy and his gracious family, and it was a privilege to be part of such a special day for them. Moments like that remind me why I often enjoy using music to serve—it helps create a sacred atmosphere that words alone can’t always reach. I also had the chance to spend time in the temple doing initiatories. I always find peace there and a renewed sense of perspective. At Post High, I’ve been bringing musical instruments to try with the 18-21-year-old students and we’ve had fun playing “Would You Rather.” These are young adults, ages 18–21, with severe disabilities, and it’s great to see them light up with music and humor.
