My "Memory" song inspired by Adam Levine/Maroon 5.

I love those famous chord progressions... can you guess which classical melody I ripped off this chord progression from?

A Season of Inspiration and Preparation

This beautiful autumn season has felt like a powerful time of reflection and renewed purpose. My heart has been so full these past couple of weeks, drawing inspiration from so many different places. Like so many of you, I was deeply moved by the memorial and funeral services for President Russell M. Nelson. Reflecting on his incredible life of service and his ability to connect with people all over the world has inspired me to work on improving my own "languages" of connection. I've felt a renewed desire to polish my Spanish and ASL, and to keep learning the beautiful languages of dance—swing, salsa, waltz, cha-cha, and more—that can bring so much joy and build community. That spirit of inspiration continued through General Conference. I was especially touched by the messages about the power of music to teach the gospel, which is something so dear to my heart. It's a perfect reminder as I prepare for my new role leading the stake choir. I've been diving into stud...

A Meaningful Week

This past week was full of meaningful moments and tender reminders of what matters most. I spent time preparing for parent-teacher conferences and felt grateful for the positive conversations with families. Nothing compares to hearing parents’ insights and sharing ideas for how we can help students thrive. It’s always a blessing to see the growth and support surrounding each child. Over the weekend, I enjoyed the Swiss Days celebration in Santa Clara with friend Chanda Vaniman and Weston nieces and nephew. Swiss Days is a cherished tradition, honoring community spirit and pioneer heritage—I savored the food, music, and friendly faces, and was reminded how blessed I am to be part of such a close-knit place. Sunday brought my first stake choir practice as director, and I truly felt it went well! The singers were welcoming and enthusiastic, and I’m already looking forward to our next rehearsals and the chance to make beautiful music together. As so many hearts continue to mourn afte...

🎵🍂🎭✨ Autumn Adventures, Family Visits, and Music All Around! ✨🎭🍂🎵

It’s been a busy and joy-filled little while lately! At school, I’ve been getting some of my  original songs  ready for the kids—one celebrating autumn, one for Halloween, and even a  school spirit song ! Seeing students light up with music is one of my favorite parts of this season. On the professional side, I’ve been putting together a  presentation about how theater can be applied in speech therapy —something I’m really excited to share. Combining creativity and communication has felt like a calling to me. I also had the pleasure of attending a  wonderful concert by Lieto Voices  here in St. George. Their harmonies were stunning and so uplifting—it reminded me how powerful live music can be. My church activities have been keeping me musically inspired, too! 🎶 I’ve been helping get music ready for our  ward Primary sacrament meeting program  (which went really well) and for a  church singles talent show —both full of great energy and testi...
