Gearing Up

  Life lately has felt a little like standing at the top of a roller coaster—lots of anticipation, energy, and preparation before the big plunge. I’ve had a handful of meaningful projects and events all coming up at once, and it’s been exciting (and a little stretching!) to get ready for them. One thing I’m most looking forward to is leading the stake choir for our upcoming stake conference. There’s something so powerful about voices joining together in praise, and I’m eager to help bring that spirit into our meeting. I’ve been thinking about how to create an uplifting, unifying experience for both the singers and the congregation. On the professional side, I’ve been gearing up for parent-teacher conferences. That means lots of preparation—reviewing progress, organizing thoughts, and making sure I can communicate clearly with families about their children’s growth. Music, Service, and Summer Gatherings

The last couple of weeks have been full, meaningful, and a little bit varied, so I thought I’d share some highlights of what I’ve been up to. One of the sweetest experiences I had was playing the piano for a baptism in my ward. It was for a very lovely 8-year-old boy and his gracious family, and it was a privilege to be part of such a special day for them. Moments like that remind me why I often enjoy using music to serve—it helps create a sacred atmosphere that words alone can’t always reach. I also had the chance to spend time in the temple doing initiatories. I always find peace there and a renewed sense of perspective. At Post High, I’ve been bringing musical instruments to try with the students, and we’ve had fun playing “Would You Rather.” It’s great to see the kids light up with music, humor, and positive interactions.
